Talks & Walks

Our move to Ashford, Connecticut along with a barn raising is complete and we have installed more herb gardens. The herb barn will now be home to classes, workshops and talks, as well as an apothecary and a primitive herbal shop.

See below & check back here often for an updated schedule of weed walks, herb garden tours, talks and workshops on herbal medicine, cosmetics, and culinary uses, as well as wild weed foraging which we’ll incorporate into a lunch.

2021 Classes

We’ve made the decision to halt our classes until we see what happens with COVID since our barn is very small and no way to social distance.

Most classes are on the first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. – 12:00 *with exceptions

Below is a sample of previous classes given here:

August 31, 2019 10:00-12:00 Canning 101. During this hands on class we will use a simple boiling water bath method to create a jam using honey as a sweetner & a salsa using local organic produce. A jar of each will be given to each person to take home. Please add a material fee of $15- to the $25- class fee

Saturday, July 20, 2019 10:00-12:00: Learn to make natural Bug repellents (including Bed bug spritzer to use in hotels/Inns, Tick repellent, Poison ivy remedy, Bee sting remedy etc. while taking home samples. Please add a material fee of $15- to the $25- class fee

June 8th I will have a table at the Bhakti Spring Fair so stop on by

Saturday, June 1st: 10:00-12:30 Weed Walk/Lunch: We will forage my property for edible weeds then create a delicious lunch/desert/beverage using these weeds

Saturday, May 11th: Just in time for spring cleaning!!!!! Natural House Cleaning Products. Have peace of mind knowing you can clean your home without using harmful chemicals. You will make your own products and take them home along with the recipes. Please add a material fee of $15- to the $25- class fee

Here are some photos from our first herb class which was given in May. We made herbal bug sprays and bug salve to take home, enjoyed lavender madelaines & capriland’s herbal tea, identified plantain to use for bee stings and bug bites.
